We are currently seeking a skilled Variable Hours Latin Tutor who will enable us to develop our Modern Languages curriculum by delivering engaging learning sessions in Latin & Roman Civilisation at our Parkshot (Richmond) site.
About the Role
To develop our curriculum in 2022-23 we are looking for a Variable Hours Tutor in Latin & Roman Civilisation. You will initially deliver a 10-week introductory course on Saturdays, with further classes available in future.
Hours are variable and cover daytimes, evenings and weekends. Variable Hours Tutors work closely with Programme Managers in the designing, planning and delivering of courses which stretch and challenge our learners, as well as preparing a variety of learning materials, providing guidance to learners on progression options, attending termly meetings and completing course administration.
About You
You will have experience teaching Latin to beginners; experience of teaching adults would be an advantage, but is not required. The ability to teach Ancient Greek would also be of interest.
You will be able to deliver engaging learning sessions for a range of learner groups and ability levels, and to ensure high levels of learner satisfaction with the College and its services. You will also advise line manager of ideas for developing and promoting sessions/courses to increase learner numbers and attract new learner groups.
Where applicable, you will be able to undertake scheduled teaching on qualification provision (on College site and in outreach centres), assessment, educational guidance, preparation of learning materials and assignments, arrangements for examinations, feedback and marking of students’ work, invigilating and marking of examinations, and administration of own courses.
You will have English and Maths minimum Level 2 qualifications, and a qualification or industry experience in your specialist area.
